More information about the video content bellow: 1. Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world; 852 languages are listed for the country, of which 12 have no known living speakers. Most of the population of over 7 million people live in customary communities, which are as diverse as the languages. 2. The island of New Guinea was named after the country of Guinea in Africa. "New Guinea" (Nueva Guinea) was the name coined by the Spanish explorer Yñigo Ortiz de Retez. In 1545, he noted the resemblance of the people to those he had earlier seen along the Guinea coast of Africa. 3. For centuries, the Anga tribe of Papua New Guinea’s Morobe Highlands has practiced a unique mummification technique: smoke curing. Once smoked, the mummies aren’t buried in tombs or graves; instead, they are placed on steep cliffs, so that they overlook the village below. The very sight of a string of charred, red bodies hanging off the mountains might seem quite grotesque, but for the Anga people, it’s the highest form of respect for the dead. 4. Want to see kangaroos that climb trees, carnivorous mice or a poisonous bird? Then come see Papua New Guinea. The tree kangaroo, the Hooded Pitohui and the thousands of other species that can be found in the rainforest are all part of this country’s ecosystem. Most species are still yet to be discovered. 5. Archaeological evidence indicates that humans first arrived in Papua New Guinea around 42,000 to 45,000 years ago. Agriculture was independently developed in the New Guinea highlands around 7000 BC, making it one of the few areas in the world where people independently domesticated plants. 6. Port Moresby, also referred to as Moresby and Pom Town, is the capital and largest city of Papua New Guinea. The city emerged as a trade centre in the second half of the 19th century. On 20 February 1873, John Moresby claimed the land for Britain and named it after his father, Admiral Sir Fairfax Moresby. He called the inner reach Fairfax Harbour and the other Port Moresby. 7. The Territory of Papua and New Guinea was renamed Papua New Guinea in 1971. It gained full independence from Australia in September 1975. The monarch of the United Kingdom serves as the Head of State of Papua New Guinea. It remains one of the least explored countries of the world, culturally and geographically. From the end of the harvest until the first rains come, new suitors perform courtship dances. Dances will last several weeks and move from village to village, as the Tolai are exogamous: they cannot marry within the same clan. Tolai women put on their best clothes and decorate themselves with symbols of their clans so as to be better identified. At the end of the courtship period, suitors have chosen their potential wives. But their choices have to pass one final step: the blessing of parents and of the council of elders, which will specify both the dowry and the payment period. Papua New Guinea people and culture and rituals in Mount Hagen Papua New Guinea (PNG; /ˈpæpuə njuː ˈɡɪniː, ˈpɑː-, -pju-/, US /ˈpæpjuə, pɑːˈpuːə/;[9] Tok Pisin: Papua Niugini; Hiri Motu: Papua Niu Gini), officially the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, is an Oceanian country that occupies the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and its offshore islands in Melanesia, a region of the southwestern Pacific Ocean north of Australia. Its capital, located along its southeastern coast, is Port Moresby. The western half of New Guinea forms the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua. Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. There are 852 known languages in the country, of which 12 have no known living speakers.[10] Most of the population of more than 7 million people live in customary communities, which are as diverse as the languages.[11] It is also one of the most rural, as only 18 percent of its people live in urban centres.[12] The country is one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically. It is known to have numerous groups of uncontacted peoples, and researchers believe there are many undiscovered species of plants and animals in the interior Tôi đã tạo video này bằng Trình chỉnh sửa video của YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

The jungles of Papua New Guinea are said to be the home of the Demon Flier or Ropen, a mysterious creature believed by some to be a surviving pterosaur Pterosaurs (/ˈtɛrɵsɔr/, from the Greek πτερόσαυρος, pterosauros, meaning "winged lizard") were flying reptiles of the clade or order Pterosauria. Pterosaurs are often referred to in the popular media and by the general public as flying dinosaurs. This Flying Dinosaurs of Papua New Guinea documentary investigates claims that the jungles of Papua New Guinea could be hiding a flying creature local villagers call the "Demon Flyer", whose description is very similar to of the pterosaur of prehistoric origin... This Documentary goes in search of the Flying Dinosaurs of Papua New Guinea, one of the few documentaries ever based on this Flying Dinosaur. With this figure set to double, campaigners are calling for international attention. Local leader, Agus Alua, of the Papuan People’s Assembly claims “this issue is as bad as genocide in West Papua.” However, reports indicate that the disease has spread as a result of high-risk sexual behaviour that can be tracked back to brothels, illegal fishermen and tradesmen, both attracting prostitution. So who organises the prostitution? "“It cannot survive without support from the military or police”" says Agus.
